Stay Just A Little

Hey everyone! Meet Puff!! Puff belongs to my co-worker Katie. He kept me company this morning in the office. He's such a sweet little bird!

Today was another FAST paced day. It came down to the wire, but we made it (like we always do) ;p

I will say though, that with the panic of the day, came some sweet treats throughout it. First of all, one of my co-workers brought me a copy of She & Him for me to add to my iTunes playlist and relieve some of the tension with some smooth tunes. And THAT helped a bunch!

As the to-do list was dwindling down, it seemed that more and more things just kept getting tacked on. I'd gotten a large chunk of it done, when I got a call on my intercom. It was my boss calling me down because one of our volunteers made fresh homemade Pico De Gallo for the whole office! It was such a needed break and a GREAT treat!

I finally got the journal done and sent off to press and tied up some loose ends and then I got a text from my dad that said: DINNER IS ON US TONIGHT! GO CRAZY! WE LOVE YOU!

And at first I texted him back and was like, "Are you serious?" Cause it just totally caught me by surprise. But he confirmed that I could in fact go out for dinner and have whatever I wanted—and that was AMAZING! I decided to go to Red Mill Burgers, since I had heard rave reviews about it but had never actually been. I had the chicken sandwich and a lemon chiffon shake and it was DELICIOUS!

And then I went to my comfort spot: Cupcake Royale and had one of the Toasted Cocounut Lime cupcakes and some coffee.

The funny thing is, even though he said to "Go crazy," I only ended up spending a total of $20 bucks . . . but it went a looooong way! After going in to the office around 7 a.m. the past few days and working late, I decided it was a nice night for a treat. I'm just glad I had help along the way. And the best news of all . . . tomorrow is Friday and I'm not going in early and . . .

7 more days until I fly to the east coast!

Creature Fear

The other night, I stopped over at Cupcake Royale to try out one of their tasty Fall Harvest Cupcakes :D The three new cupcakes they are featuring for fall are Caramel Apple, Pumpkin Maple, and Carrot Cake. I tried the Caramel Apple and it was delish! :D

Go ahead, you can drool. They're worth it.

But while I was there I noticed some beautiful new artwork hanging on the walls. The artist is Weston Jandacka. The artwork so beautiful and detailed. Here are some samples of the artwork there:

Amazing, yeah? I think so. For a moment it made me want to become an artist. But then I realized that I already am an artist. And that I can use my art to speak to others just like Weston does. In the meantime, I'll continue to look at those pictures and admire the beauty that they yield. :D

PS: I chose the title of Bon Iver's Creature Fear for this post, cause if you listen to that song and look at the paintings, they just GO together :D

Man's Best Friend

This week has just flown by!

Tomorrow starts a new one, which should be equally as awesome :D

Tommorow night I'm going to El Corazon to see my friend Annie's husband play with his band. They are opening for Bobby Long, which is amazing cause I enjoy his music too!
If you want to check out Annie's husband's band, OWLS TO ATHENS, just click HERE!

Today was fun—I got to hang out at Cupcake Royale with my friends Annie and Erica! We brought Annie's dog, Maeby [inspired by the character on Arrested Development] and another dog, Bailey, that she was dog sitting. Seattle is SO dog friendly :D

And EVERYONE kept stopping to say hi to Maeby and Bailey! I mean, you can't blame 'em cause they're cute pups, but it was seriously the equivalent of having a SUPER CUTE BABY. . . you know, where everyone stops by and notices the kid, but not the parents. It was so funny! We laughed and joked about it and just had a really great conversation about a lot of stuff. The fact that the cupcake of the month is Raspberry Lemonade was just the icing [see what i did there??] on the top. Speaking of Cupcake Royale, I bought some of their coffee grounds to make lattes at home . . . which I'm gonna do now. So enjoy the pics of our outing and I'll be back tomorrow night/Tuesday morning with photos and an update from the show :D

AND i LOVE the new artwork at the Ballard Cupcake Royale!! I want one of these paintings so bad!!

AND PS: I found a new Amazon exclusive song by my new favorite band, Parachute! It's called STUCK IN THE MIDDLE and it's a great tune! You should check it out HERE!
