My Mean Monster

Yet another rare moment where I share a song I've written with the "public."

But I REALLY REALLY REALLY like this one. It's  a story about a discussion that others have had with me. It's called My Mean Monster.  And basically, it's a story about the 'monster' that comes out in girls when we feel threatened. It's like when a girl sees another girl that's cuter or has a better personality or whatever, and says to herself, "I'm gonna be the green monster of envy and manipulate a situation so I can destroy her and make everyone think I'm better than her." But in the light of reality, the monster and everyone she touches ultimately loses.

Here are the lyrics:

That gallon of sugar
would sure come in handy
her milk mustache is bleeding again

She's got a flair for the dramatic,
your damsel in distress
your self professed sugar pie
devil in a blue dress

See. The monster you made
is fun in the shade
And the price that we pay
won't kill us today.
Is that okay?

She's mean to everyone but you
your fairy tale come true
Paper dolls are fun to cut
unless they're cutting you

See. The monster you made
is fun in the shade
And the price that we pay
won't kill us today.
Is that okay?

Take my monster away
say goodbye to today
The price I must pay
kills me everyday

So take her
away
